We've created community dashboards that empower communities and community health workers to better understand the context of their neighborhood.
Data in the dashboards relate to the DIP-IN goals, like examining community-level risk factors, access to care, and the physical and social environment.
The ABCs of Diabetes program is a FREE four-part series from the Marion County Public Health Department, the Diabetes Education Accreditation Program (DEAP) and the Indianapolis Public Library.
Instruction will be given on managing diabetes through medications, nutrition, exercise, monitoring and accessing available community resources. Attendees will participate in individual consultations with a registered dietitian, registered nurse and health educator. The class is open to anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes, their family members and friends.
You must attend all four classes in the session you choose. Registration is required to attend.

Though this project does not directly address diabetes medication and supply issues, we know there are many, many individuals who are struggling daily to afford their diabetes medications and supplies.
The resources below include links to assistance programs from all of the major insulin manufacturers as well as other discount programs and resources.
For local and national information concerning COVID-19, check out our school’s website. It is being used by IUPUI as an important hub for information.
People with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, are especially vulnerable to the virus. They are NOT more likely to get the disease, but they do have a greater chance of more severe complications if they do get the virus.
